Explore the ways in which each city along our route has contributed to Europe’s cultural identity throughout history and influenced many modern cities around the globe.

Touch on themes and events such as World War II, the Renaissance and colonialism and integrate these topics into each site, activity and cultural exchange.

Forge relationships with locals through meaningful cross-cultural engagement. And throughout your travels, explore impressive European icons, but also off-the-beaten path locales that provide that authentic charm usually not seen by typical travelers to these cities.

PROGRAM ITINERARY

THIS ITINERARY IS AN APPROXIMATION OF THE OVERALL PROGRAM EXPERIENCE. THE ORDER OF ACTIVITIES ON YOUR TRIP MAY CHANGE.
IF A PARTICULAR SCHEDULED EXPERIENCE IS CANCELED, WE MAY REPLACE IT WITH AN ALTERNATIVE ACTIVITY.

Day 1: Arrival

Welcome to Italy!

TTN staff will meet you when you land in the Rome airport. Together we’ll travel to your new home away from home. Get settled into your room and start getting to know your fellow travelers.

We’ll have our first Italian welcome dinner together and then gather for a brief orientation.

Day 2: Rome (The Roman Empire)

First, you’ll get a chance to visit the most iconic amphitheater in the world: the Colosseum. Completed in AD 80, this grand structure was able to host upwards of eighty thousand spectators.

If time allows, we’ll also participate in a Gladiator workshop that will help you experience history in a hands-on way.

Day 3: Rome & the Vatican

You’ll start the day with an introduction to Rome by foot.

We will take a Rome walking tour as a group, where we will visit world-famous Trevi fountain, the Spanish Steps and Piazza Novana. We’ll then make our way to one of Rome’s many markets to get a feel for the city and buy some local products for lunch.

In the afternoon, we’ll visit Vatican City, the world’s smallest sovereign state. Explore mind blowing Renaissance structures including St. Peter’s Basilica, the largest church in the world.

Walk through the Vatican Museums, with collections showing about 20,000 works of art. Within this museum is the famous Sistine Chapel.

This evening, you’ll be making your own dinner with an authentic Italian pasta workshop!

Day 4: Rome → Paris

Today’s a travel day from Rome to Paris. We will make our way from one major city to another. The first train will take us through the Italian countryside and small towns en route to Milan.

In Milan we take a lunch break in Milane Centrale, the largest railway station in Europe!

Our second train will take us from Milan to Paris. The train from Milan to Paris will journey 396 miles, taking around 6 hours and 30 minutes.

After our journey, we will check into our new home base and get some rest to gear up for our first full day in Paris tomorrow!

Day 5: Paris & Versailles

Today will be spent discovering all the wonders of the City of Lights, Paris.

We’ll take a Paris walking tour with a professional guide. See the Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Élysées, and much more along the way.

In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Palace of Versailles and its extraordinary gardens. Once the residence of France’s kings, it is now one of the greatest monuments of history in France.

We’ll have dinner at a local restaurant to unwind after an exciting day spent as true Parisians!

Day 6: Paris (Art Relics and Parisian Culture)

Discover the Louvre, which was the residence of French kings before it became a globally renowned museum.

Inside, we’ll explore the world’s largest art museum and one of the most iconic landmarks in Paris.

We’ll then enjoy lunch at a local Parisian restaurant.

After lunch, we will visit the iconic basilica of Sacré-Coeur and take in the views of ancient cobbled streets of Paris’ most charming neighborhood, Montmartre.

With a little luck, we’ll also have time to try our hand at some art with a sketching class!

Day 7: Paris (Landmarks & Icons)

To start the day off right, we’ll climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower and enjoy views of the morning light spilling into the city of Paris.

After exploring the area, we’ll have lunch at a local restaurant and take a cruise on the River Seine.

In the afternoon, we will spend some time volunteering with a local organization and give back to this city that has welcomed us with open arms.

Through this experience, you will get the chance to have conversations with and learn from French locals in their own community.

Day 8: Paris → London

After breakfast, we’ll take the Eurostar to London, one of the world’s most important global cities.

Taking the train between Paris and London is a right of passage for any true European traveler. Enjoy the high speed voyage, including a leg that passes through the English Channel via the Channel Tunnel.

Day 9: City of London

Now it’s time to see the landmarks of this incredible city.

We’ll visit the Tower of London first. This tower has been used as a prison, royal residence, treasury, armory, and is currently the home to the Crown Jewels of England.

After lunch, we’ll take a ride on the iconic London Eye and spend some time exploring London’s South Bank, one of London’s many cultural districts.

This evening, you’ll have a night of theatre in the city, watching one of London’s great West End Musical shows.

Day 10: Greenwich

Spend the day in Greenwich, discovering the charm of this unique district with in the city.

We will visit the Greenwich Market known for traditional British treats, and stand with our feet in two different hemispheres at the Prime Meridian line in Greenwich Park.

We’ll also visit the Royal Observatory, where you can explore the solar system with real astronomers.

Cap off this fun day with a cruise on the River Thames.

Day 11: Oxford

Spend the day at Oxford!

You will discover Oxford on a guided walk, including a visit to the historic Christ Church college.

We’ll then enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant, where you can give the local fish and chips a try.

In the afternoon, visit Oxford University’s Museum of Natural History. The museum houses the university’s scientific collections of geological and zoological specimens for a self-guided visit, a cool hidden treasure for travelers who are looking for something different.

Day 12: Departure

Before you even know it, the journey traveling through some of the most influential cities in Europe must come to an end.

Head to the airport today with memories and knowledge that will stay with you for a long time after the trip ends!

Staff will assist students with checking in and accompany them until they have safely departed for their gates at the airport.
